Nate Solder is an easy target this offseason but his opt-out has made parting ways with him a little more difficult. The opt-out paused his over-the-market contract a full year, meaning the Giants will have two more years remaining on that four-year, $62 million deal instead of one.

Big Blue has basically moved on from Solder at left tackle as last year’s first round draft pick Andrew Thomas started 15 games there in 2020. The Giants can save approximately $9.9 million by releasing the 32-year-old veteran but could opt to restructure his deal instead with the offensive line still in flux.
