Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch almost returned to football over the weekend. Well, kind of.
Lynch, who is now the co-owner of the Fan Controlled Football league’s Beasts, came very, very close to taking the field.
Saturday night marked the FCF’s inaugural game featuring the Beasts, and the league had some breaking news to tweet ahead of the matchup.
“Marshawn Lynch is in the locker room suiting up,” the FCF’s official account tweeted.
But alas, it would not come to be.
