Tyrod Taylor leaves game vs. Jets with injury, Tommy DeVito in at quarterback

The injury bug got worse for the Giants as Tyrod Taylor was forced to leave the game with an apparent injury in the second quarter.

Playing for the injured Daniel Jones, Taylor’s injury meant Tommy DeVito came in to play quarterback. The injury came moments after Darren Waller had to leave the game as well.

Oct. 29, 2:03 p.m.

Tight end Darren Waller was forced to exit the game vs. the Jets in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and he will not return as he has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

Waller had one catch for four yards before his injury.

Oct. 29, 10:37 a.m.

Daniel Jones has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets, and reports indicate he could miss next week’s game against the Raiders as well before a possible return in Week 10 against Dallas.

As it turns out, Jones’ neck injury seems to be affecting other parts of his body. 

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jones’ injury has caused “significant weakness” in his left, non-throwing arm. While Jones has “regained a lot of strength,” he has still yet to be cleared for contact.

The Giants maintain that Jones’ injury isn’t season-ending, but it sounds like it will be at least two more games before fans see him back on the field.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that the Giants are looking toward Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys as a potential return date for injured quarterback Daniel Jones, provided there are no setbacks.

Jones, who was ruled out on Friday for the third straight week with a neck injury, has not yet been cleared for contact, making next week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders an unlikely scenario, per Schefter.
