KJ Hamler, Baron Browning held out of Broncos' OTA...

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — As the Broncos began their second week of voluntary organized team activities, third-round pick Baron Browning and 2020 second-round pick KJ Hamler were among the players who did not participate in practice on Tuesday due to injury.

Browning, who did not participate during the last practice open to the media on May 24, will remain out “the rest of this week,” according to Head Coach Vic Fangio.

Fangio said Browning suffered a lower-leg injury in rookie minicamp, which took place in mid-May.

Hamler, meanwhile “tweaked” his hamstring, and Fangio said the Broncos were being cautious with Hamler’s injury.

The second-year receiver suffered a pair of hamstring injuries last year, as he missed a portion of training camp and then missed two games later in the year when he suffered another injury to the muscle.

Hamler worked on a side field with trainers during Tuesday’s practice, while Browning was not spotted during the session. Cornerbacks Duke Dawson Jr. (knee) and Essang Bassey (knee) and defensive lineman Mike Purcell (foot) also rehabbed from injuries during a portion of the practice.

Outside linebackers Bradley Chubb (ankle) and Jonathon Cooper (medical procedure) remained out, though Cooper did observe the team’s practice. Shelby Harris (medical procedure) also observed the session.

Tackle Garett Bolles did not attend the voluntary practice due to a “family issue,” according to Fangio. The Broncos’ head coach said he was “not sure” where tackle Bobby Massie was during the practice, as he was not among the players in attendance. Massie was at practice during the last media-viewing session on May 24.
