New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney dealing with...

The New York Giants had several players (wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay among them) wearing red jerseys during their OTA sessions this week, an indication that they were dealing with some kind of injury.

“We’ll have some guys in red jerseys today,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Thursday this week  “Some can do a little bit more than others. Some are rehabbing. There will be I’d say a number of guys right now in red jerseys. I’m not going to get into the specifics of it right now at this point in time, but you guys will end up seeing them.”

Asked specifically about Toney and Golladay, Daboll said that both had been in red for the non-media OTAs on Monday and Tuesday.

“Yeah, they’re on the field. They’ll be two of the guys that are in red jerseys, but they’ve been in all the meetings. They’re doing a good job. It’s just good to have all the guys here so we can implement our stuff,” he said.

We now know that Toney’s issue is knee-related.

Toney had an injury-plagued rookie season and appeared in just 10 games. He suffered a multitude of injuries and ailment but his knee was not one of them. Toney suffered from shoulder, oblique, quad, thumb, ankle and hamstring issues at different times during the course of the season. He also spent time on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
