Until last Saturday, the Seattle Seahawks had been the last team in the NFL to have not placed a player on the Reserve/COVID-19 list as a result of the coronavirus – either a positive test or potential exposure to the virus through a close contact.
However, over the weekend, defensive tackle Bryan Mone became Seattle’s first.
Coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Mone himself did not personally test positive for COVID-19.
“He has not tested positive,” Carroll said Monday. “We’re exercising extreme caution right now because of a contact. So we’re just trying to do it exactly the very best way possible and keep our fingers crossed that he’s OK. Right now he hasn’t tested positive.
“Nobody’s tested positive yet.”
Mone has been on the Seahawks injured reserve since Week 8 and remains the only player on the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list as of now.
