Seahawks OC Shane Waldron won't dwell on...

Seattle Seahawks fans heard from the team’s new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. During the Zoom interview, Waldron outlined his plan for the 2021 season and made it clear that while some things will remain the same, there will be changes coming as well.

“I have a core set of beliefs that I’m going to stick to, but we’re going to build this thing together,” Waldron told reporters. “The one thing with Russell (Wilson) and the rest of the players on this team, they have a great foundation and have won a lot of football games together. Will there be parts of stuff that carries over? Absolutely, because there’s been some great things that they’ve done in the past.”

There is no denying the Seahawks’ offense found some levels of success over the past few seasons, but Waldron doesn’t want to dwell too long on what has been. Instead, he’s looking ahead.

“For me, I’m more worried about 2021,” Waldron said. “There’s a lot of things in the past that we all learn from and grow from those experiences, but really everything moving forward is going to be about this year and how this group of players fits together and this group of coaches fits together and how we can attack that with a competitive mindset.”
