Quarterback Russell Wilson, linebacker Bobby Wagner, and cornerback Neiko Thorpe were announced as the Seattle Seahawks’ team captains for the 2020 season, for offense, defense, and special teams respectively.

Coach Pete Carroll praised Wilson in his press conference on Monday, stating that he has turned in solid showings throughout the entire offseason.

“Russ is really on it,” Carroll told reporters. “He has had a great, great offseason, a great camp. He figured out how to do it, he competed like crazy at home and he has come to camp and just been lights out. So we’re really excited about where we’re going with (the passing game).”

Wagner is expected to anchor the defense as he always does while Thorpe will lead the special teams unit. This will be the third year in a row the three have been named captains.

The 2020 NFL season is less than a week away and the Seahawks will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Week 1.
