The Dallas Cowboys got blown out by the Washington Football Team. It is time to shake things up.

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 2-5 on the season with Sunday’s loss to the Washington Football Team. The team delivered another disastrous performance on both sides of the ball. Over the past two weeks, Dallas has been outscored 63-13.

It is time for the organization to take a chance on its younger players. The team is giving up a league-high 34.7 points per game. America’s Team looks dysfunctional in a way not seen since 1989 when the team went 1-15 during Troy Aikman’s rookie season.

Amazingly, the Cowboys still have a shot at winning the NFC East. Dallas is currently tied for second place with Washington at 2-5 and only a half-game behind the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles who currently sit atop the division at 2-4-1.

The team is in desperate need of change, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. That change might be delivered by giving rookie cornerback Reggie Robinson II a chance to prove himself on the field.

The fourth-round pick out of Tulane had three interceptions in his last season with the Green Waves. That is three times as many interceptions as the entire Cowboys team has through seven games this year. Standing at 6-foot-1 and clocking in at an impressive 4.44 forty-time, Robinson seems to have the requisite size and speed to play in the NFL.

Whether the organization wants to play him at safety or cornerback he should definitely be given an opportunity. What does the team have to lose? Games? They are doing plenty of that already. The respect of their fans? That ship sailed the moment they got blown out by a team without a name.

Honestly, it is hard to imagine that Reggie Robinson II will be any worse than what the Dallas Cowboys are putting on the field on a weekly basis. The Cowboys should give Robinson a chance to prove himself on the field. What do they have to lose?
