Sad news out of Jacksonville, where running back Travis Etienne’s rookie season is over before it began. Etienne suffered a Lisfranc injury against the Saints on Monday Night Football. The injury is a significant tear that will require surgery and sideline Etienne until 2022.
Etienne rushed for nearly 5,000 yards in his career at Clemson, adding over 1,000 more as a receiver. The Jaguars drafted him 25th overall in hopes of turning him into a hybrid running back/slot receiver, but that’s on hold for now.
