Week 2 Preview and Prediction for Sunday night

The Seattle Seahawks will look to build on their 1-0 start when they host the New England Patriots for “Sunday Night Football” in the Week-2 matchup.

It is the first time these teams have played since 2016, and the first time the Patriots have made the trip to the Pacific Northwest since 2012. Back then, the Seahawks overcame a 13-point deficit to shock the Patriots with a 24-23 upset win. It was the moment the 12th Man realized Russell Wilson was the real deal as a franchise quarterback.

Seattle has faced New England twice since the 2012 game, once in the infamous Super Bowl XLIX loss and once more in the aforementioned 2016 meeting which was a thrilling 31-24 Seahawks’ victory in Foxboro. Sunday night will mark the third time in the last three showdowns between the Seahawks and Patriots they will face off on “Sunday Night Football,” completing a sort of NBC-style trilogy.

A lot has changed since then. Wilson has emerged into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, the Legion of Boom is no more, and Tom Brady has been replaced by Seattle’s old foe, Cam Newton.

While faces, location and even uniforms have changed, one thing is certain – just like the previous encounters, this will be a closely fought game.
