The NFL kicked off free agency this week. And as expected, the Dallas Cowboys mainly stuck to re-signing their own, refusing to make any big splash signings. Although, there have certainly been some additions of note.

First, let’s be sure to mention the Cowboys retaining their own players. Obviously, the biggest “get” of them all being quarterback Dak Prescott. It was imperative Dallas lock down their franchise quarterback, and they did. But Prescott’s signing is surely impacted the following list and that has to be a major consideration.

The Cowboys also re-signed cornerbacks Jourdan Lewis and C.J. Goodwin. Lewis should be penciled in as a starter covering the slot. And that’s regardless if Dallas chooses a cornerback with the 10th overall selection in the 2021 draft or not as defensive backs are notorious for needing extra time to adjust to the speed of the NFL. Goodwin is a special teams ace and a quality re-signing.

Wide receiver Noah Brown was also re-signed. The 25-year old is a former seventh-round selection who has value as a run blocker and is starting to emerge as a reliable pass-catcher as well. Both wideout Cedrick Wilson Jr. and defensive tackle Antwaun Woods were restricted free agents and each were offered original round tenders of $2.13 million for 2021.

Now, let’s take a look at the free agents the Cowboys have signed or agreed to terms with that didn’t play on America’s Team last year. Here are our early grades on these five new additions.
